Pegasus Sponsorship (Pin) Program

Each Spring like the flowers blooming, the Derby Festival Pegasus Pins start appearing on lapels throughout the Greater Louisville area. Nearly 350,000 Pegasus Sponsorships are sold each year and with them exposure for the companies that participate in the thirty year old program that demonstrates both pride in our community and support for its largest celebration, the Kentucky Derby Festival. The opportunities within the Pegasus Sponsorship (Pin) Program are varied and offer the chance to build store traffic for retail businesses, increase transactions at the retail counter, and/or promotion of the product or service that Your Company manufactures or markets.

Grand Prize Level - Grand Prizes must have a retail value of $2,500 or more and be something that nearly everyone in the community can use or own.

Instant Prize Level - Instant Prizes must have a retail value of $15 or more and be redeemable for a product or service, with no additional requirement for the presenter to buy anything. At this level, a minimum authorization of 2,000 Gift Certificates is required.

Coupon Level - Coupon sponsors are looking to drive traffic through their doors, the doors of their retail partners and/or sample a new product to a large audience. A minimum of 50,000 coupons must be authorized and the product must be readily available at locations throughout the community. Each coupon must be for a product or service valued at approximately $1, with no additional requirement for the presenter to buy anything.

Currently, the Derby Festival Pegasus Sponsorship Program has Sponsors participating at one, two and all three levels of the program, in the same year…giving each Sponsor the level of exposure they desire from their participation in the program. (Participation involves providing the prizes and a promotional fee.)
